Place data

Scripture

Scripture references and verse text are from the Berean Standard Bible (BSB), copyright © 2016, 2020 by Bible Hub, released to the public domain under CC0 (berean.bible). Verse text on the atlas's site cards is served via the AO Lab Free Use Bible API (bible.helloao.org), and every reference reads in full in Lexeme.

Terrain

Real elevation from the Mapzen / AWS Terrarium open elevation tiles (the AWS Open Data elevation-tiles-prod DEM).

Artwork

The map itself is AI-painted relief guided by the real terrain, and the city vignettes are AI-assisted paintings produced for this atlas. They are illustrations in the spirit of an illuminated atlas, not photographs or reconstructions.

Cormorant Garamond and DM Sans, both licensed under the SIL Open Font License and self-hosted with the atlas.

A note on locations

Ancient locations are scholarly identifications. Many are approximate and some are debated; a place's card says so where it matters.
